Born
in Havana, Cuba, I came to New York to live with
relatives as a young child.
The next several years of schooling would lead
me to Spain in a semester abroad program through
Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia concentrating
on liberal arts, languages and painting. Those
months would prove to be exciting and indicative
of the harbinger of things to come.
After obtaining a Bachelors degree in Art,
with emphasis on Studio Art, from American University
in Washington, DC, I moved to Zaragoza, Spain
for several years culminating in numerous still
lasting friendships and memories.
My favorite subject matter is the landscape and
I love trying to interpret an unexciting misty
haze or a lackluster concentration of flowers
by intensifying and changing reality with vibrant
colors. In my opinion, oils can achieve this as
no other medium can.
